About The Position

Moses Lake School District is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Moses Lake High School Wrestling Team. The district aims to teach and develop useful, lifelong skills in student-athletes and provide opportunities for their success. Moses Lake High School is a WIAA 4A school and a member of the Columbia Basin Big Nine Athletic Conference (CBBN), a competitive conference whose teams regularly participate in WIAA state championships.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform the duties of the position and comply with applicable school and district policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of the sport and demonstrated technical skills, with successful experience teaching those skills to secondary school student-athletes.
• Valid First Aid and CPR/AED certification, or ability to obtain certification before the start of the season.
• Ability to meet WIAA age requirements applicable to the position.
• Organizational skills and abilities to ensure a well-managed program.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of sport-specific WIAA coaching standard courses by the third week of the season.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the duties of the coaching position and comply with policies and procedures established by the MLHS Principal, Athletic Director, and Moses Lake School District.
• Teach wrestling skills to secondary school student-athletes.
• Help ensure the wrestling program is well managed.
• Complete sport-specific WIAA coaching standard courses by the third week of the season.
