About The Position

The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach for its competitive Division I wrestling program. The successful candidate will uphold the institution's military mission and regulations, contribute positively to the campus community, and guide student-athletes in balancing their academic, military, and athletic pursuits. Coaches are expected to represent The Citadel and the wrestling program with honor, duty, and respect.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong commitment to student-athlete development.
Deep appreciation for The Citadel’s mission of developing principled leaders.
Thorough knowledge of and adherence to institutional, Southern Conference, and NCAA rules.

Nice To Haves

Prior coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the head coach in organizing the wrestling program, including creating practice and training plans, developing competition strategies, providing tactical instruction and skill development, coordinating team travel, managing equipment, overseeing student managers, and performing other assigned administrative duties.
Recruit prospective student-athletes who align with The Citadel’s core values.
Promote academic success, integrity, and timely graduation for all student-athletes.
Support fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives to foster program growth and sustainability.
Build meaningful relationships with stakeholders to create lifelong connections to The Citadel and the wrestling program.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Wrestling Coach.
