About The Position

Temple University's Athletics Department is searching for an Assistant Women's Tennis Coach. The Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach supports the Head Coach by upholding the program established by the Head Coach, which includes, but is not limited to: creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating, and controlling aspects related to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, volunteer coaches, and related booster clubs. The Assistant Women's Tennis Coach is expected to conduct themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department, and the sport, both on and off the field of competition. The Assistant Women's Tennis Coach is expected to be knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policies governing their sport, as well as NCAA and conference policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits. The Assistant Women's Tennis Coach performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least two years of previous tennis experience as a collegiate coach and/or collegiate student-athlete
  • Experience administering Division I NCAA rules
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills
  • Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Required background checks: Child Abuse Certifications, DMV Check, Cash Handling

Responsibilities

  • Upholding the program established by the Head Coach
  • Creating, planning, organizing, motivating, communicating, and controlling aspects related to recruiting, practices, competitions, student-athletes, volunteer coaches, and related booster clubs
  • Conducting themselves in a manner representative of the University, the Department, and the sport, both on and off the field of competition
  • Being knowledgeable about and comply with NCAA regulatory policies governing their sport, as well as NCAA and conference policies governing recruiting, eligibility, ethical standards, playing seasons, and extra benefits
  • Assisting with budgeting, scheduling, meal planning, coaching, recruiting, scouting, and purchasing and caring for equipment
  • Implementing policies and guidelines for all Men’s Tennis personnel and student-athletes
  • Handling and prioritizing diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules
  • Performing other duties as assigned
