About The Position

University of New Mexico is inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach / Recruiting Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Head Coach and plays an integral role in all aspects of the Division I Women’s Swimming & Diving program. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting the Head Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach in the planning, organization, and daily operation of all phases of a Division I women’s swimming and diving program Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, motivating, and evaluating academically and athletically qualified student-athletes in full compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association regulations, Mountain West Conference policies, and University guidelines Overseeing and ensuring adherence to administrative procedures related to team and recruiting travel, budget management, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress Supporting alumni engagement, fundraising initiatives, and community outreach efforts as assigned Assisting with preparation and management of home and away competitions Performing additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach This role requires a highly organized, compliance-focused professional committed to student-athlete development and competitive excellence See the Position Description for additional information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; no previous experience required.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required in this position.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior participation and/or coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, including experience serving as a recruiting coordinator
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a training group through a full NCAA competitive cycle
  • Experience in community outreach initiatives and active involvement in university-related activities

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Head Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach in the planning, organization, and daily operation of all phases of a Division I women’s swimming and diving program
