About The Position

The Assistant Athletic Coach, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs. The Assistant Swimming Coach's primary responsibility is the coaching and instruction of the sport of Swimming. Approximately 60% of the Assistant Coach's responsibility is dedicated to the instruction of Swimming through in pool or dry land training and classroom training through use of video and other teaching techniques. Approximately 40% of the Assistant Coach's responsibility is recruiting and other administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • Must report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse.
  • Must report any crime or incident that might be a crime.
  • Must complete an online or in-person training session for Campus Security Authority (CSA).
  • Responsible for any NCAA and Atlantic Sun Conference bylaws and guidelines.
  • Must assure that NCAA, Conference and UNF regulations are followed and any violations thereof are reported to UNF Athletic Compliance.

  • A CSA ’ s responsibility is a duty to report.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coaching and instruction of the student-athletes in proper techniques and decision-making in the sport of Swimming.
  • Perform routine daily responsibilities related to the operation of the sports program.
  • Work could include computer data-entry, routine record keeping and compliance logs required by the NCAA.
  • Recruit acceptable student-athletes for the UNF athletic program.
  • Use abilities to identify student-athletes, which are athletically and academically prepared for programs at UNF.
  • Perform other duties as prescribed by head coach.
  • Could include clinic participation; scheduling; coordinating travel arrangement; oversee equipment needs; overseeing team manager or other related functions.
  • Adheres to all institution, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Reports all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in supervising volunteers, student assistants, etc.
