About The Position

The University of Sioux Falls invites applications for an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. USF is a member of the NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The position is a full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible position and reports to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. The person in this position will assist with all aspects of running a competitive women’s basketball program, including but not limited to identifying and recruiting successful student-athletes, skill development, scouting, monitoring student-athlete academic progress, and other duties as assigned. The selected candidate will also assist in organizing and running camps. The applicant must demonstrate leadership, recruiting, and coaching skills and knowledge of and adherence to compliance with all NCAA applicable procedures, rules, and regulations. The successful applicant will have demonstrated successful basketball playing and/or coaching experience, preferred collegiate experience.

Requirements

  • Significant knowledge of and demonstrated success in coaching women’s basketball
  • Recruitment of student-athletes
  • Strong motivation, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in the environment of a Christian higher education institution
  • Abide by all NCAA DII, Northern Sun Conference, and University policies
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Coaching experience or a combination of playing and coaching experience
  • Understanding of the mission of USF
  • Strong professional work ethic
  • Commitment to the academic success of students
  • Travel is necessary with a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of an offer of employment
