About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Warehouse Manager, the Assistant Warehouse Manager supervises warehouse personnel and assists with the operation of the warehouse. This position works primarily in the warehouse area requiring mobility. The position routinely lifts items as heavy as 50lbs.

Requirements

• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 8-10 hours a day.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and maintain balance on uneven surfaces.
• Required to stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently.
• Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Must have the ability to see and hear within normal ranges, with or without corrective devices.
• Experience and ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
• Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as hot, cold, or noisy environments.

Responsibilities

• Managing the receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance of goods
• Setting up and maintaining the layout and ensuring efficient use of space
• Establishing and enforcing operational policies and procedures, and implementing and maintaining health and safety standards
• Keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy
• Ensuring quality of products during receiving and before shipping and reporting any issues while maintaining all ISO standards
• Analyzing logistics data to increase productivity and prevent loss
• Liaising with customers and responding to their communication
• Scheduling and overseeing the warehouse team, and managing the flow and quality of their work
• Inspecting equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and overseeing general maintenance when necessary
• Training new employees on the proper use and maintenance of equipment and facilities
• Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
• Providing direct performance feedback, positive morale and behavior to model, and appropriate encouragement to the warehouse crew/retail staff
• Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities, communicating with drivers and freight partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages
• Perform inventory cycle counts weekly and managing any discrepancy in the inventory in the timeframe laid out in the Inventory control policy
