About The Position

Assist in the preparation of student athletes for meaningful athletic competition through instruction in the fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual/team success and at the same time, receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of good citizenship, pride of accomplishment, good sportsmanship, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess a current First Aid Card/CPR Card or complete a district approved athletic training/sports medicine course equivalent to the Red Cross first aid training or be enrolled in that type of class.
  • A Washington State Patrol Criminal History Information Form, required by RCW 43.43.830, be on file in the Athletic Office.
  • High school graduate and at least 19 years of age.
  • SPI Moral Character Supplement Form 4020b completed and on file.
  • Annually attend bloodborne pathogens training.
  • Annually attend a WIAA approved rules clinic for the sport being coached.
  • Immigration Reform and Control Act Requirement: The recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete an INS I-9 form and must provide proof of employment eligibility prior to working.
  • Disclosure Statement and Record Check: Pursuant to Chapter 486, Washington Laws of 1987, the recommended applicant, if not a current regular employee, will be required to complete a disclosure form indicating whether he or she has been convicted of crimes against persons listed in the law. In addition, a background check, based on fingerprints, will be requested from the Washington State Patrol & FBI. Employment is conditional based upon completion of the record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Coaching experience at Middle/High School level preferred.
  • Certificated personnel preferred.
