About The Position

The part-time assistant volleyball coach provides instruction and leadership to student-athletes under the direction of the head coach. The part-time assistant coach is primarily responsible for teaching proper techniques and skill development in the area of volleyball. Position responsibilities include planning and executing instructional practice sessions, facilitating discipline-specific lessons and attending matches. Other responsibilities may include monitoring academic progress of student athletes, recruitment of student athletes and other athletic support functions. Compensation for this position will be $2,000.00 ($1,000.00 for each Fall and Spring semesters).

Requirements

  • A motor vehicle driving record acceptable to CTX is required.
  • Working knowledge of the Concordia University Texas (CTX) vision and mission.
  • Understanding of intercollegiate athletic operations, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to articulate and model the Concordia University Texas’ mission, vision, and values.
  • Commitment to encouraging and supporting diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Must be a mission-driven individual with a heart for the Gospel and committed to the Concordia Distinctive.
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel long distances via automobile and/or airplane.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience is preferred.
  • 1 year of college level athletic coaching is preferred.

Responsibilities
