About The Position

The Assistant Vice Provost for Academic Program Pathways, reporting to the Vice Provost for Academic Programs, will collaborate with the Office of Academic Affairs (OAA), the Vice Provost for Academic Programs, and the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE) and Interim Dean. This role will lead the academic programs 'pathways pillar' within OAA's workforce development initiative. The position involves partnering with companies, local school districts, and other universities and technical schools to establish connections and build pathways. A key responsibility is to establish the EHE Workforce Advisory Board to improve enrollment and the experience for PreK-12 workforce programs. The position may also involve teaching up to 6 credit hours in EHE.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Work with Columbus State Community College to identify, develop, and implement new workforce development pathways in areas such as IT, Construction Systems Management, and Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Columbus City Schools to address enrollment issues and related pathways to OSU, focusing on OSU's role in new high school 'academies'.
  • Establish academic program connections with other central Ohio school districts in alignment with the Central Ohio Educational Services Center (ESC).
  • Connect with Ohio's Career Technical Centers and assist OSU's regional campuses with K-12 programming.
  • Work with the Office of College Credit Plus to re-envision the approach to this state transfer process.
  • Teach 3-6 credits per year within the scope of the employee’s expertise, ideally focusing on the role of PreK-12 education leadership in advancing PreK-12 education workforce interests in partnership with higher education.
  • Partner with EHE faculty, staff, and administrators to establish and cultivate an EHE PreK-12 Workforce Advisory Board.
  • Serve at the intersections of the Department of Educational Studies, the Department of Teaching and Learning, the EHE EDGE office, and OAA to enhance partnerships with EHE and PreK-12 entities/personnel.
