About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an Assistant Vice Provost & Executive Director for its Center for Leadership Studies. The role will build on the Center’s foundation, established in 2000 to provide leadership development training to undergraduate students throughout the university, and broaden the university’s commitment to developing students’ and alumni’s capacity for professional and personal impact. In the Assistant Vice Provost capacity, the position will also assist the Vice Provost for Education with leadership and related opportunities, working across curricular and metacurricular partners and others within the Vice Provost’s domain. The role is expected to be highly collaborative, combining direct service with support and influence for university activities that develop future leaders. The successful candidate will shape the Center’s strategic vision, build and nurture its team, engage with students, maintain connections to the leadership development community, support the Vice Provost for Education, cultivate alumni relationships, and grow the resources needed to advance the Center’s mission. The ideal candidate is an innovative, adaptable, accomplished leader and collaborator who can work with a varied population of internal and external partners with integrity. A master’s degree and at least 15 years of experience are required as stated in the qualifications; a doctoral degree is valued but not required. The position is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
