Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assists all academic departments or units with curriculum and program initiatives by researching viability/marketability of new degree programs or options and facilitating the intra-college proposal development, review and approval process.
  • Coordinates workforce development strategies across academic departments.
  • Works closely with the State University of New York (SUNY) and the State Education Department (SED), inclusive of development/oversight of documentation requisite to approval of new degree programs or revisions to existing programs, provision of regulatory information to academic staff, tracing approval process(es), filing program notices and paperwork and maintaining progress reports for academic staff.
  • Facilitates the Five-Year Departmental Review/Academic Program Accreditation/External Program Review process by assisting academic staff in organizing and editing review reports, gathering and analyzing data pertinent to and any and all facets of evaluation, facilitating the external review process and Final Report Action Plan.
  • Works closely with the Center for Counseling and Transfer working primarily on the academic program articulation process.
  • Facilitates all Affiliation Agreements with off-site educational settings.
  • Participates in a variety of College Committees and external meetings, programs, course conferences as directed by the Provost.
  • Assists with new academic initiatives including, but not limited to, Guided Pathways and Micro-credentials, credit and noncredit pathway development, and stackable credentials.
  • Assists with the development of assessment plans, working with all levels of academic staff to develop objectives, design plans and procedures, select or develop instruments, compile and analyze data, select methods of presentation and write reports.
  • Collaborates with faculty and administration on accessible course design.
  • Monitors Academic regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Supports implementation of ADA Title II accessibility requirements.
  • Assists in monitoring progress on departmental goals an unit plans.
  • Supports implementation of SUNY Academic Momentum Initiatives
  • Assists with coordination of the Academic Unit Plans and the Budget process.
  • Oversees the implementation of HVCC General Education requirement approvals/course lists.
  • Represents the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and performs other duties as assigned.
