About The Position

Temple University's Enrollment Management Department is searching for an Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Student Financial Services (SFS). The AVP will provide strategic and operational leadership for the university’s undergraduate, graduate, and professional financial aid programs. The AVP will also assist in developing and implementing comprehensive financial aid strategies to support the enrollment of a diverse and talented student body, including transfer students. The AVP will develop appropriate staffing plans and budgets to execute a comprehensive awarding strategy; provide leadership to the financial aid functions; collaborate and coordinate with all admission operations and functions; develop and leverage information technology to create and implement business processes that gain efficiency and enhance the recruitment and retention experience for prospective and continuing students; direct the development and implementation of procedures for efficient processing of financial aid; ensure adherence to federal (Title IV), state and institutional regulations and compliance; explore and manage artificial intelligence in the recruitment, retention and customer service process; and develop a high-functioning team that uses in-depth market analysis and best practices to manage financial aid leveraging strategies and programs. The AVP will partner with the VP for Enrollment Management to align recruitment, financial aid, and student success strategies in support of university goals. This position also involves building strong, collaborative, collegial relationships with internal and external campus partners, including schools and colleges, student affairs, and the operations and finance division, to foster a campus-wide culture of recruitment. Working with the VP for Enrollment Management, the AVP will assist in developing a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At least seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management, or a related field within higher education.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting.
  • Cash Handling and Personally Identifiable Information background check.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Strong understanding of enrollment management best practices and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing recruitment, financial aid and admissions strategies.
