The Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students (AVP/DOS) serves as a senior leader within the Division of Academic and Student Affairs and reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs. As a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team, the AVP/DOS provides strategic leadership to foster a student-centered campus environment that promotes engagement, belonging, wellbeing, accountability, and student success. This highly visible role partners closely with students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders to support a vibrant and inclusive campus community. The AVP/DOS oversees the Office of the Dean of Students, serving as a central resource for student support, campus care concerns, behavioral intervention, and student conduct processes. The AVP/DOS also provides leadership and supervision for key student-facing departments, including the Center for Student Engagement, the Norse Center for Belonging, and Community Standards and Care.
