About The Position

As a Commercial Lender II, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing relationships with potential and existing members. Monitor an existing commercial loan portfolio in the range of $25M - $50M to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems as well as build own portfolio by developing relationships with new members. Grow the average products per household, member business loans, and new share growth. Support the Credit Union's culture through ongoing member contact, quality member services, and superior product knowledge. Participate in prospecting activities and campaigns to grow loan balances and business deposits while promoting treasury management services for member businesses throughout the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' commercial lending experience in the finance industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the oversight and growth of a commercial lending portfolio, including meeting business loan and deposit production expectations.
  • Manage portfolio by monitoring delinquency, covenant tracking, and credit risk ratings to ensure adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Cultivate and meet with prospective and current members to gather information on their business needs, evaluating income, collateral, and financial condition.
  • Utilize delegated lending authority to approve and originate business loans within limits or submit to committees for exceeding limits.
  • Collaborate with Lender Support Specialists, Credit Analysts, and Commercial Operations staff on loan presentations, underwriting validation, credit report reviews, and appraisals.
  • Develop new business and secure relationships with centers of influence in commercial real estate and C&I lending through community involvement and networking.
  • Oversee the cultivation of new leads and maintain/strengthen relationships with the existing member base.
  • Follow up on referrals and identify cross-sell opportunities to educate members on credit union products and services.
  • Initiate, create, and deliver commercial lending and deposit presentations.
  • Follow up with members after closing to assess needs and answer questions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all credit union products and meet specified annual cross-sales expectations.
  • Interview loan applicants to identify needs, collect information, and evaluate financial condition.
  • Explain loan programs and recommend options.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and oversee the processing and closing of all business loans.
  • Initiate required adverse action letters when applicable.
  • Complete required annual training courses and engage in continuous personal learning and development.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including the Credit Union Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
