About The Position

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Finance to support the organization during a critical transition period. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in full-cycle accounting, financial management, and organizational financial operations. This role is essential to ensuring the financial stability, efficiency, and strategic direction of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
  • Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software, including ERP platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience and team management capabilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full cycle accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and internal controls.
  • Prepare and present financial statements, budget reports, and financial forecasts to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the company’s annual budget process, including development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance and support to departments and business units.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic planning initiatives and provide financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
  • Monitor cash flow, investments, and debt management to maintain organizational financial health.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Oversee grant, contract, or funding management and ensure proper allocation, reporting, and compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with other administrative or operational departments to streamline financial processes and support overall organizational effectiveness.
