About The Position

In this highly visible and influential role, you will have responsibility to lead our group pricing function for our Employee Benefits Life, Absence and Disability $4b block of business. You will play a key role in growing profits through strategic pricing decisions, industry insights, superior analytics and innovative solutions. You’ll leverage your business and strategic expertise to drive profitable growth in a disciplined and long-term approach. Working closely with Sales, Underwriting, and Corporate Actuarial leadership, you will develop and execute pricing philosophy, strategy and tactical actions to achieve long term business objectives. In addition to Pricing, you will oversee reinsurance for our group benefit products to facilitate and maintain appropriate levels of risk retention. You’ll also support product development in partnership with other key stakeholder groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent non-US actuarial credential.
  • At least 10 years of post-fellowship experience with significant leadership experience in the group benefits pricing area including Group Life, Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD), Group Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML), and Group Dental and Vision experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop actuarial strategies to support profitable growth.
  • Partner with Sales and Underwriting to drive sales, customer retention and cross sell.
  • Oversee the development of pricing strategies for LAD products to ensure competitive pricing and achieve profitability targets.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Drive risk management with Underwriting and develop reinsurance partnerships.
  • Foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, promoting ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Drive actuarial innovation and best in class actuarial practices.
  • Translate complex actuarial insights into clear, actionable operational and strategic guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
