This role assists in developing and managing VDC modeling procedures, provides leadership for VDC Modeling Engineer personnel, and supports management in VDC development and coordination responsibilities. The position involves performing essential Senior VDC Engineer responsibilities, assisting with hiring, development, and supervision of VDC team members, and supporting pursuit reviews with realistic renderings, graphics, and animations. The role also oversees VDC tasks and resources, utilizes tools for site surveying and layout, sets up background models, manages cloud-based workspaces, and employs reality capture techniques. Key responsibilities include maintaining BIM models, producing models for quantity take-off, generating architectural models, incorporating gap models, developing model setups for as-builts and facility operations, providing VDC schedule input, conducting constructability reviews, resolving coordination clashes, developing modeling deliverables for self-perform disciplines, and generating fabrication files. Additionally, the role involves setting up and running meetings, training project teams, supporting work orders and contracts, and building relationships with project teams, craft, clients, and design partners. Specific to Timberlab, the role performs DC Engineer responsibilities, facilitates feedback loops, performs 2D/3D detailing for non-timber elements impacting mass timber, tracks deliverables, develops resource-loaded schedules, provides training to external trades, reviews DC content conformance, and develops PSA contracts for external DC services.
