About The Position

This individual will lead the project team in the execution of Whiting-Turner’s Virtual Building program and promote VDC adoption within the central Pennsylvania region. They will be tasked with leveraging BIM and other emerging technologies for digital delivery.

Requirements

Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and interpreting construction schedules.
Intermediate knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems, with a focus on Electrical knowledge.
Adept in coordination management software used to aggregate BIMs and run conflict detection.
Ability to thrive in a team environment contributing to both large projects and producing independent work.
Innately curious, forward-thinking personality to push innovative ideas in all aspects of daily tasks.
Able to multi-task and work concurrently on multiple projects.
Able to serve the central Pennsylvania region.
Excellent General Computing Skills.
Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manage.
Experience with cloud-based common data environments and issue tracking plug-ins such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM Collaborate and Revizto.
Experience with 4D Scheduling Tools (Synchro, Fuzor preferred).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well with cross-discipline teams.
Skilled at problem solving.
Strong Time-Management Skills.
Confidence in leading teams.
Bachelor’s degree with preference given to Architectural, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management related degrees or Associate degrees in a VDC/BIM technical concentration.
3-5 years of relevant work experience in the AEC industry in a BIM Management role or 3-5 years of relevant field experience in construction.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with Electrical systems and Mission Critical work is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the project team in the execution of Whiting-Turner’s Virtual Building program.
Promote VDC adoption within the central Pennsylvania region.
Leverage BIM and other emerging technologies for digital delivery.
Review RFPs and specifications for BIM requirements.
Develop BIM Execution Plans.
Evaluate Design Intent models for constructability and accuracy.
Create virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, and scheduling.
Develop BIM scope language for BIM participating trade partners.
Lead collaborative meetings with trade partners and designers to resolve above-ceiling conflicts with the use of virtual models.
Produce clash reports and action items for distribution to all BIM stakeholders.
Assist with Virtual mock-ups and gap modeling specific systems.
Generate and track RFIs resulting from the Virtual Build Process.
Develop composite drawings to supplement shop drawings as required by contract.
Test new software programs and technologies and make recommendations on use for project-specific needs.
