About The Position

Whiting-Turner is seeking a self-motivated, collaborative, and confident individual to lead multi-discipline BIM coordination efforts. This role involves leading project teams in executing a Virtual Building program and leveraging BIM and other emerging technologies to promote VDC adoption within Whiting-Turner’s Federal portfolio. The position is full-time and based in Seattle, Washington, with initial training at Headquarters and a future relocation to the Pacific Northwest Region.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading multi-discipline BIM coordination efforts for either a Subcontractor or General Contractor.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings and interpreting construction schedules.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems.
  • Adept in coordination management software used to aggregate BIMs and run conflict detection.
  • Thrive in a team environment contributing to both large projects and producing independent work.
  • Innately curious, forward-thinking personality to push innovative ideas in all aspects of daily tasks.
  • Able to multi-task and work concurrently on multiple projects.
  • Excellent General Computing Skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products including but not limited to: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage.
  • Experience with cloud-based common data environments such as: Sharepoint and Autodesk Forma and Desktop Connector.
  • Knowledge of BIM issue tracking software such as: BIM Collaborate and Revizto.
  • Experience with 4D Scheduling Tools (Synchro, Fuzor or similar).

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in the Federal sector is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead various project teams in the execution of a Virtual Building program.
  • Leverage BIM and other emerging technologies to promote VDC adoption within Whiting-Turner’s Federal portfolio.
  • Review RFPs and specifications for BIM requirements.
  • Develop BIM Execution Plans.
  • Evaluate Design Intent models for constructability and accuracy.
  • Create virtual simulations to validate and improve site logistics, safety concerns, building sequencing, and scheduling.
  • Develop BIM scope language for BIM participating trade partners.
  • Lead collaborative meetings with trade partners and designers to resolve above ceiling conflicts using virtual models.
  • Produce clash reports and action items for distribution to all BIM stakeholders.
  • Assist with Virtual mock-ups and gap modeling specific systems.
  • Generate and track RFIs resulting from the Virtual Build Process.
  • Develop composite shop drawing submittals.
  • Test new software programs and technologies and make recommendations on use for project-specific needs.
