About The Position

Bedford North Lawrence High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Varsity Football Coach for the upcoming season. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in football, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes. This seasonal position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of our football program while mentoring young athletes in their personal and athletic growth.

Requirements

• Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in football.
• Strong knowledge of football strategies, rules, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, school administration, and parents.
• Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
• Must pass a background check and adhere to all school district policies.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends during the football season.

Nice To Haves

• First aid and CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and implementing effective practice sessions and game strategies.
• Support the overall development of student-athletes by providing instruction on fundamental skills, techniques, and game concepts.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff to evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Help organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and team meetings.
• Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
• Assist with the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the football program.
• Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and student progress.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant school and athletic department policies and regulations.
• Attend coaching clinics and professional development opportunities as required.
