The Assistant Underwriter position involves invoicing policies and coordinating the servicing of new and renewal accounts from the time of binding, adhering to Company guidelines, and proactively addressing potential issues. The role requires providing high-quality professional service to Agents and Companies. Key responsibilities include underwriting renewal business with minimal supervision, explaining liability and program coverages, instructing Underwriting Clerks and Policy Typists, evaluating and adjusting policies, conducting ratings, managing account documentation, processing various policy servicing requests, and handling new business and renewal binders. The Assistant Underwriter is also responsible for establishing new submissions, producing cancellation and non-renewal notices, managing underwriting files for unissued policies, and maintaining pending/suspense and account files according to company policy.
