About The Position

North Park University, a member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, is accepting applications for part-time Assistant Track and Field Coaches for the upcoming academic year. The positions will have a flexible date range. North Park University, founded in 1891 and affiliated with the Evangelical Covenant Church, is a Christian university with over 3,200 students. Requirements

• Coaching or competitive experience in any event is required.
• Applicant must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends).
• Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
• Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Committed to and an articulate supporter of the university’s mission, identity, and Christian faith commitment.
• Personal commitment to North Park’s mission of Christian higher education.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Director with the daily operations of the men’s and women’s track and field programs at North Park University.
• Analyze performance and instruct athletes in events and techniques in preparation for and during athletics competition.
• Assist with all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting.
• Ensure a commitment to the academic success of track student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
• Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
• Manage equipment usage.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management, and Associate and Assistant Athletic Directors.
