About The Position

The primary duties of the Assistant Track and Field Coach are to assist in team coaching, teaching, training, and individual student-athlete skill development to prepare the team for competition. Other duties include monitoring academic, social, and personal development of student-athletes, assisting in identifying and recruiting talented students, and promoting the program through relationships with alumni, donors, and community members. The role also involves assisting in the planning and implementation of camps and clinics, representing the athletics department and track program at events, and maintaining knowledge of all relevant compliance issues, policies, and procedures set forth by the NAIA, The Sun Conference, and Ave Maria University.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Previous track and field experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in team coaching, teaching, training, and individual student-athlete skill development.
  • Monitor academic, social, and personal development of track and field student-athletes.
  • Identify and recruit academically and athletically talented students for the track and field program.
  • Promote and develop the program by creating and maintaining effective relationships with alumni, donors, and community members.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of camps and clinics.
  • Participate in events as a representative of the athletics department and track program.
  • Maintain knowledge and remain current regarding all appropriate NAIA, The Sun Conference, Department of Athletics, and University compliance issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Adhere to all guidelines and regulations set forth by the Sun Conference, NAIA and Ave Maria University.
