About The Position

The Office Assistant works under the supervision of the office manager and the director to fulfill the duties outlined below. This role involves providing excellent service to customers including students, faculty, staff, and community members visiting the office of International students. The assistant will help maintain and submit insurance documentation, process immigration paperwork, and provide filing and database support. Routine office tasks such as filing, email communications, copying, and scanning are also part of the responsibilities. Additionally, the role includes answering phones, taking messages, and assisting with the coordination of special events, workshops, and orientations. Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor will also be completed.

Requirements

  • Ability to work well with people of all backgrounds, races, religions, and genders.
  • Ability to focus on details and think creatively.
  • Strong clerical skills (filing and typing).
  • Computer skills (PC preferred, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, & Banner).
  • Efficient and effective verbal and non-verbal skills.
  • Must be reliable, accurate, flexible, and work well both independently and as a team player.
  • High School diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual abilities are highly preferred.
  • Previous office experience preferred.
