Key responsibilities include managing the Center's daily operations, resolving management-related issues, maintaining administrative and child records, and potentially supervising staff, assisting with lesson planning, and evaluating performance. The role also involves preparing reports, representing the Center's interests, and ensuring fiscal responsibility through accurate financial accounting, budget management, and asset protection. Additionally, the Assistant Director is involved in recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff, maintaining personnel and child records, and coaching staff. The position also focuses on enrollment by interviewing prospective parents and children, ensuring all necessary forms are completed, orienting new parents, and maintaining open communication regarding child progress and Center activities. Parent engagement is key, involving effective communication, conducting meetings, supporting staff in communicating child progress, and soliciting feedback for improvements. Safety and health are paramount, requiring staff training in safety regulations, enforcement of safety rules, maintenance of health records, promotion of healthy habits, ensuring a clean environment, informing parents of communicable diseases, ensuring first aid/CPR certified staff are present, maintaining emergency plans and drills, and conducting daily safety checks of the building, equipment, and grounds.
