About The Position

Dreamwear, a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company, is seeking an Assistant Textile Print Designer to support the Print team in creating original artwork and graphics for the Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston brands. The role involves working on prints for various fabrics across bras, panties, lingerie, sleep, and loungewear. Laura Ashley's aesthetic is described as feminine, sophisticated, and timeless with a focus on floral prints, while Cath Kidston offers a playful, nostalgic, and cheerful interpretation of British life with hand-drawn prints, ditsy florals, and novelty motifs. The ideal candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple brands.

Requirements

• 6 months - 1.5 years of experience in textile design (internship experience ok)
• Degree in Textile Design or related field
• Strong illustrative hand, painting skills & color sense
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills
• Motivated self-starter with a desire to learn

Responsibilities

• Support Print Designer in creating original prints and graphics from concept through pre-production in a fast-paced environment.
• Communicate effectively with Print Designer, ask questions when necessary, and apply recently gained information on future projects.
• Research emerging print/graphic concepts and trends for inspiration with input from Print Designer.
• Proactively gain understanding of production constraints for factory ready artwork and repeats.
• Assist Designer with strike off comments.
• Continually practice illustration, repeats, and techniques to improve technical and brand understanding.
