About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 3 emergency and reference centres open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Quebec region. Your presence with our team is very important as you lend a hand so that our patients get back on their feet as quickly as possible and with as little stress as possible. As a member of our technical support team, you assist animal health technicians and veterinarians during procedures. You ensure the well-being of the patients under your care by reassuring them and performing restraint during interventions. Permanent position, full-time. The schedule is variable, 40 hours/week, day, evening, and one (1) weekend out of two (2). Shift schedule from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Depending on the operational needs of the establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the veterinarian and/or the health technician in minor procedures
  • Assist the animal health technician in their various tasks (restraint, blood collection, catheter placement, radiography, medication administration and injection, etc.)
  • Communicate with the animal health technician about the condition of hospitalized patients
  • Maintain cleanliness of consultation rooms, treatment rooms, and laboratories
  • Assist in the preparation of analyses (laboratory)
  • Replenish necessary materials for the proper functioning of the hospital (surgeries, consultation rooms, treatment rooms)
  • Instrumentalist and setup of surgical gowns
  • Assist the customer service representative (answer the phone, escort patients to rooms)
  • Perform pedicures and ear cleaning
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions, allowing you to acquire knowledge that may be useful for answering client questions and assisting colleagues
  • Work in collaboration with animal health technicians and assistant technicians for the well-being of patients
  • Perform all other related tasks
