About The Position

The Assistant Technician for Leak Repair is responsible for safely detecting, locating, evaluating, and repairing leaks onsite at client work locations. This role involves interacting with various customers to increase company presence in an assigned geographic area, as well as supervising and training new technicians or assistant technicians. The Assistant Technician is responsible for promoting the safety, quality, and integrity culture at Colt.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and skills.
  • Must be able to pass routine and random drug screening.
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
  • Must be able to understand, speak, and write English.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
  • Have obtained or has the ability to obtain OSHA 10 And OSHA 30 certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or Trade school or related education preferred.
  • Some experience with on-line leak repair preferred.
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices, alerting others regarding potential hazards.
  • Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to Colt’s Core Values.
  • Assists in assessing leaking components and reports on findings to operations, engineering, and customer representatives.
  • Assists in leak repair operations that may include drill and tap of components, wire wrap and banding, use of measuring tools such as calipers and tape measure, various clamp and enclosure installation, and measuring complex geometries of components.
  • Maintains on-call status with the ability to respond to customers rapidly and travel immediately to address customer emergencies on site.
  • Assists in inspecting leak repair devices provided by manufacturing as part of quality control prior to installation.
  • Identifies the necessity for the use of proper safety equipment, in coordination with the plant and Colt’s safety matrix, to perform all projects as safely as possible.
  • Assists with documentation and administrative procedures as required.
  • Communicates and collaborates with field personnel, client representatives, and management to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintains awareness of company products and services available to customers.
  • Assists with sales functions throughout the assigned territory.
  • Takes direction from supervisory and maintains good attendance.
  • Adheres to quality procedures and demonstrates a strong safety culture.
