About The Position

The Assistant Technical Designer is responsible for assisting the design team in all aspects of the design process and provide support as needed. They will be responsible for working with Design, Product Development, & Merchandising teams to meet deadlines for creating and passing product specs for all stages of development - concept through production. The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Handbag Design Department to support the team in creating and maintaining product specifications throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• strong communication and email skills
• detailed note taking & organizational skills
• college degree in fashion design or a related field
• illustrator and photoshop experience required
• Microsoft Excel experience a plus

Nice To Haves

• construction knowledge preferred
• flexibility to work in-office, as needed, based on development calendar
• Substance 3D experience a plus
• Raspberry AI, Adobe Firefly AI, or other product Design AI experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Responsible for working with the Design, PD, and Merchandising teams to understand deliverables and meet deadlines for creating and passing product specs for all stages of development - concept through production.
• Proto rounds - work collaboratively with the designer to ensure that all specs created reflect the intentions of that designer.
• Ensure accuracy of all information captured in specs by self-checking sketches & dimensions.
• Final Bulk Pass Off - Assist Tech Designer & Sr Tech Designer in executing final product spec updates and corrections for that season, ensuring that any and all changes to the product after market are approved by the design team.
• Assist in making sure that product specs are consistent across all factories and all seasons.
• Assist in the review and correction of post-market samples.
• Assist in the creation & maintenance of digital Design detail & standards libraries
• Assist in research of product functionality trends across market
• Assist in CAD & artwork creation in Illustrator & Photoshop, as needed
• Assist in presentation organization, set up, & clean up.
• Assist in Design workroom organization & maintenance.
