About The Position

Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Assistant Team Leader (ATL) is responsible for assisting in generating revenue and controlling expenses. This role involves the supervision of personnel, scheduling, reporting, managing supplies, ensuring safety and security, and providing exceptional customer service to both employees and customers. The ATL plays a key role in the daily operations and success of the retail store, ensuring adherence to Goodwill policies and procedures while driving performance metrics.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years retail experience is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience is required.
  • Ability to adhere to the organization's Core Principles.
  • Ability to operate a cash register, calculator, and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal instruction or direction.
  • Knowledge of product recalls and unacceptable donated goods.
  • Skilled in maintaining inventory, sales, and store records.
  • Ability to effectively supervise, train, develop, and mentor team members.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as variances, discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, and area (square footage).
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Beginner knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Must close the store at least 2 times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures 100% world-class customer service.
  • Hires, trains, develops, supervises, and evaluates team members.
  • Operates the store within budgeted expense to revenue ratios.
  • Ensures good stewardship of all donations through proper handling and processing.
  • Schedules and maintains labor and payroll in accordance with policies.
  • Responsible for the image, maintenance, loss prevention, safety, and security of the store.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies and all other company property.
  • Handles cash and completes end-of-day reports.
  • Conducts monthly safety site inspections (Audits).
  • Manages Stock on Hand (SOH) and donation verification.
  • Completes Paycom reporting, incident/accident reports, petty cash and expense reports, and purchase and supply orders.
  • Prepares monthly store leadership reports and monthly team meeting minutes.
  • Creates weekly scheduling for all Keyholders and sales floor staff, with two weeks scheduled in advance.
  • Ensures all reports are completed accurately and timely.
  • Submits work order requests for Facility Maintenance and Information Technology (IT) support.
  • Aids the Team Leader and Production Manager with production goals.
  • Maintains compliance with Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facility (CARF) standards.
  • Stays informed of product knowledge, industry trends, and competitive pricing through comparative shopping.
  • Performs assigned duties and management responsibilities within the framework of Guiding Principles.
  • Attends in-service and related training as assigned.
  • May be asked to participate in activities outside of Goodwill.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
