About The Position

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Team Leader to join our McKinney team. The Assistant Team Leader supports the coordination, supervision, and development of field staff while assisting in the execution of construction materials testing operations. This role combines field and office responsibilities, including technician scheduling support, training, equipment management, and project coordination. The Assistant Team Leader serves as an emerging field leader, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Requirements

  • 3 years of related experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Maintain basic certifications and any advanced certifications necessary for the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy
  • If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Good understanding of construction materials testing principles and standards
  • Ability to evaluate test results for specification compliance
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, technicians, and project managers
  • Proficiency with electronic devices and MS Office
  • Working knowledge of company systems and procedures
  • Ability to balance field execution with coordination responsibilities
  • Must be able to frequently lift a minimum of 85 pounds
  • Knowledge of ECS systems and procedures is a plus
  • US Military ranks E-5 (if education and certification requirements are met)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with management and coordination of field staff
  • Supports scheduling and staffing of technicians for project assignments
  • Mentors and trains field technicians to ensure competency and development
  • Promotes safety culture and ensures proper use of PPE
  • Assists with safety training and compliance efforts
  • Performs field testing, observation, and inspection as needed
  • Communicates daily with technicians, project managers, and contractors
  • Assists with calibration and maintenance of field equipment and records
  • Supports inventory management for equipment and supplies
  • Assists with recruiting and staffing to maintain appropriate team levels
  • Reviews and supports field documentation and reporting accuracy
  • Provides support to Project Managers and Department leadership
  • Attends project meetings and supports field coordination efforts
  • May assist with business development and client interaction
  • Performs other leadership and technical duties as assigned
