About The Position

The Department of Communication and Media at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a one-year, full-time, non-tenure track visiting assistant teaching professor for the academic year 26-27, with a Fall semester start. The contract is renewable pending department needs. The position requires teaching 4 courses per academic semester, holding dedicated office hours, and participating in limited additional department service. The successful candidate will be eligible for full benefits.

Requirements

  • M.A. (or M.F.A) degree in the Arts or Communication fields.
  • Ability to teach courses in digital media production and communication.
  • Prior teaching experience and evidence of teaching effectiveness.
  • Professional experience in digital media production/design.
  • Ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom, and to infuse multicultural content into course material as appropriate.
  • Strong commitment to excellence in teaching, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact teaching practices.
  • Ability to contribute to the Jesuit educational mission of the department and university.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States and complete employment eligibility verification by the first day of employment.
  • Pre-employment background check will be conducted.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 or more years professional experience in digital media production/design, especially in video production, animation, web or graphic design.

Responsibilities

  • Teach video production, motion graphics, introductory computer animation, and other areas aligned with their expertise.
  • Teach 4 courses per academic semester.
  • Hold dedicated office hours.
  • Participate in limited additional department service.
