About The Position
The Learning Experience – Byron Center is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a safe, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and being part of a collaborative early childhood education team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities
- Support developmentally appropriate experiences for children across age groups
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers
- Prepare classroom materials and support group activities
- Encourage positive social interaction and classroom participation
- Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies
