About The Position

Catapult Learning is seeking an Assistant Math Teacher for a full-time, in-person position at a private school in Kailua, HI. This role involves supporting students who benefit from Tier 2 intervention services in mathematics. The ideal candidate will be an advocate, difference maker, and mentor, dedicated to helping students learn, grow, and shine. Catapult Learning provides ongoing support to equip teachers to guide and empower students.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Teaching or co-teaching experience of at least 2 years at the elementary or secondary level (K-12) is required
• Must be comfortable and knowledgeable on math instruction for Kindergarten through 8th grade students.
• Must be able to demonstrate math content knowledge during the interview.
• Unwavering belief that all children can learn.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with individuals.
• Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft Office experience.

Nice To Haves

• Teacher certification or degree in elementary education is highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Support small groups of students to provide supplemental math instruction and support appropriate for students who benefit from Tier 2 intervention services.
• Work and partner closely with the Tier 1 lead teacher to align intervention services to math content being taught in class.
• Facilitate the implementation of academic instructional programs, class work, and assessments for students.
• Maintain program instructional materials and computer lab components.
• Conduct attendance and program tracking and reports.
• Monitor students’ materials use and behavior to keep them on task.
• Foster a positive classroom environment as you maintain the confidentiality of students and families.
• Other duties as assigned.
