About The Position

The Emerge School for Autism offers a specialized therapeutic educational model designed to foster development in children with Autism who have high support needs. Our school is a safe, accepting environment that promotes active learning and independence, preparing each child to function, learn, and thrive in a less restrictive school setting. The Assistant Teacher position at The Emerge School for Autism in Baton Rouge offers a hands-on role in supporting teachers in lesson preparation and student engagement. As an assistant teacher, you will be crucial in classroom management, assisting with behavior management, and tracking student progress. This position involves setting up classroom materials to ensure a conducive learning environment for students and teaching our students Science and Social Studies. Requirements

• Associate's degree
• Experience in the classroom (years of experience can substitute college 2-1)
• Teaching experience, particularly with children with Autism
• ABA experience is preferred but not required
• Proficiency in collaborating with teachers
• Proficiency in overseeing student activities
• Proficiency in providing personalized assistance with assignments
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Must pass state and federal background checks
• Must pass a drug test
