About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young children. This role is crucial in fostering the holistic development of each child, ensuring they feel secure, respected, and encouraged to explore. The Assistant Teacher will play a key part in implementing age-appropriate lessons, managing classroom routines, and building positive relationships with both children and their families. This is a full-time, permanent position within our early childhood learning facility.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a preschool or child care learning facility.
- Preferred knowledge of childcare licensing requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities aligned with early childhood learning standards.
- Help maintain a welcoming classroom where children feel secure, respected, and encouraged to explore.
- Assist in promoting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through structured and unstructured activities.
- Support classroom routines and positive behavior management under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.
- Help observe and document children's growth, behaviors, and learning progress using appropriate tools and methods.
- Assist in building strong partnerships with families through daily communication and support during parent-teacher conferences.
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety protocols, including maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, fellow staff, and administrators to support school goals and best practices.
- Help modify and adapt activities to accommodate children with diverse learning needs and developmental levels.
- Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and staff meetings to stay current with early childhood education trends.
