About The Position

The Assistant Teacher assists in the overall care and education of a group of children from birth through age 12. Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher provides a nurturing and stable environment and safe surroundings for young children. The role facilitates interactions among children to support the development of self-esteem, social competence, and intellectual growth, including implementing daily lesson plans developed in conjunction with the Lead Teacher.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience in a professional childcare setting.
• Experience with young children in a group setting.
• Flexibility in scheduling.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in work responsibilities.
• Positive and energetic personality.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Dependable transportation.
• Working telephone.
• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Negative criminal background check consistent with state childcare licensure requirements.
