About The Position

Acelero Learning is seeking a socially conscious and dedicated individual to join as a Preschool Assistant Teacher within their Head Start program. This role focuses on shaping the foundational experiences of children aged 3 to 5, fostering school readiness through high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction in a nurturing and inclusive environment. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate closely with a Preschool Teacher, families, and an interdisciplinary team to support each child's academic, social, and emotional growth. The position involves nurturing responsive teacher-child relationships using the CLASS™ framework, cultivating a welcoming classroom, delivering standards-aligned instruction, monitoring developmental progress, and actively engaging families. Requirements

  • A deep commitment to working with young children and supporting their social, emotional, and academic growth in an inclusive, nurturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
  • A High school diploma or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience teaching preschool-aged children, with the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse developmental needs.
  • team-oriented mindset with a willingness to work closely with co-teachers, family members, and support staff to drive positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Use the CLASS™ framework to promote high-quality teacher-child interactions that support emotional, social, and cognitive development.
  • Design and maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom that encourages exploration, discovery, and learning.
  • Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with curriculum goals to support school readiness.
  • Conduct ongoing child assessments to individualize instruction and track developmental progress across all learning domains.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to ensure all children, including those with special needs, dual language learners, and varying developmental levels, are supported.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with families to support their child’s learning and development both at school and at home.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training, coaching, and reflective practices, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
