About The Position

The Learning Experience - Pewaukee is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with children and wants to build or continue a career in childcare. You'll work alongside experienced Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to meet Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements

Nice To Haves

• Previous daycare, preschool, childcare, or experience working with children preferred
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and team-oriented
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage as needed
• Follow Wisconsin childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
