Requirements

  • At least 18 years old
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
  • CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (Required within 90 days of hire and maintained)
  • Alarm/Emergency Procedures training (Required within 90 days of hire and maintained)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in a developmental setting

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in planning and leading fun, age-appropriate activities and lessons
  • Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all children
  • Supervising children and ensuring proper staff-to-child ratios
  • Building strong, respectful relationships with children and parents
  • Communicating effectively with families about their child’s development
  • Maintaining accurate program records and documentation
  • Supporting program events, family nights, and YMCA initiatives
  • Ensuring safety through proper supervision, transportation practices, and adherence to policies
