About The Position

Mountain Park PlaySchool is seeking an energetic, dependable, and nurturing Temporary Assistant Teacher to support our 4–5-year-old classroom during the 2026-2027 school year. This classroom is filled with curious learners who are building independence, problem-solving skills, friendships, and confidence as they prepare for their next big step—kindergarten. This is a full-time temporary position running from August 2026 through February or March 2027, with the opportunity to remain connected to our program as an on-call substitute after the assignment ends.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Must be at least 18 years old
Oregon Central Background Registry enrollment
Food Handler certification within 30 days of hire
CPR/First Aid/AED certification within 6 months of hire
Ability to meet all required training and licensing requirements

Responsibilities

Support engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for 4–5-year-olds.
Encourage social-emotional growth, independence, and problem-solving skills.
Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
Assist with daily routines, transitions, outdoor play, meals, and classroom activities.
Have fun reading stories, leading activities, exploring outdoors, and celebrating children's growth and achievements.
