About The Position
The Assistant Teacher will support the Youth Scholars Program at True Blue Neighbors. This role involves assisting with classroom instruction and supervision, supporting a safe and equitable learning environment, and implementing age-appropriate activities to foster academic development. The Assistant Teacher will also help maintain the learning environment, ensure equipment is in good condition, attend professional development and family engagement events, and work collaboratively as part of a team.
Requirements
- Experience working with children
- Computer literacy skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Effective communication skills

- Previous K-we program experience
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
Responsibilities
- Assist with classroom instruction and supervision of students
- Assist with program attendance
- Support a safe, equitable, learning environment for students of all racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds
- Supervise outside and inside extra curricular activities
- Implement age-appropriate activities that support the academic development of students and meet the goals of the TBNYS program
- Help maintain a clean and organize learning environment
- Check classroom/program equipment to ensure they are in good condition
- Attend all required professional development and training opportunities
- Attend family engagement events and activities
- Maintain a positive attitude and work with others as a member of a team
