About The Position

As an Assistant Teacher, your dedication to program development and exceptional ability to communicate, guide and work with children offers invaluable support to the teacher, making you an invaluable resource. This is a Part-Time position with 30 hours per week, scheduled Monday to Friday from 8:45 am to 3:15 pm.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent OR One (1) year of experience working with children less than 13 years.
• None

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of work experience with small children.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Demonstrated patience and compassion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with all of the children and their families.
• Effectively guide the children’s behavior in an age-appropriate manner.
• Meet the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and cultural needs of individual children.
• Assist the teacher in providing a developmentally appropriate program for all of the children while fostering an environment that supports their growth.
• Ensure the safety of the children and promote healthy habits.
• Work with colleagues and community representatives to support children and families.
