About The Position

Bright Horizons is hiring a full-time Assistant Teacher to work with toddlers at Little Apron Academy near Smyrna, Georgia. This is an in-person position in an early education and preschool child care center, with working hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Assistant Teacher provides supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and related services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, ensuring the safety of children in the center’s care. The role offers opportunities to learn from early education experts and pursue a CDA or college degree at no cost through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program. The hourly pay range is $16.85–$20.95, with actual offers depending on factors such as experience, education, training, certifications, and geography.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED.
Pass required state and company background checks.
Meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements.
Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally lift, carry, or hold more than 40 pounds.
Demonstrate a full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities.
Maintain mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred.
A CDA, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in early education or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with hands-on activities that meet children’s needs and interests.
Maintain open communication with parents and share each child’s daily milestones.
Keep the classroom safe and clean by following required procedures and guidelines.
Fulfill mandated reporter requirements, including reporting suspected child abuse or neglect to the appropriate State agency and informing the director.
Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons policies, procedures, guidance, and applicable laws and regulations.
Comply with applicable immunization, employment physical or screening, and health and safety training requirements.
Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
