About The Position
The Learning Experience – Columbus Circle is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a structured, engaging learning environment while supporting daily classroom routines alongside Lead Teachers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children in a collaborative early childhood education setting.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must meet New York State childcare licensing requirements
Nice To Haves
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities
- Support developmentally appropriate experiences for children across age groups
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers
- Prepare classroom materials and support group activities
- Communicate professionally with families and teaching team members
- Follow New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
