About The Position

We are seeking a caring, energetic, and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our team! Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, school, or similar setting is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for working with and caring for young children.
  • Dependable, professional, patient, compassionate, energetic, and willing to learn.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day.
  • Ability to follow classroom routines, curriculum expectations, policies, and directions from the Lead Teacher and center leadership.
  • Willingness to complete required training and professional development.
  • Ability to meet all applicable state childcare licensing requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • No college degree is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, positive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, activities, and learning experiences.
  • Actively engage with children throughout the day during learning activities, play, meals, outdoor time, transitions, and other classroom routines.
  • Encourage children's independence, curiosity, communication, creativity, and positive social interactions.
  • Support each child's individual needs, routines, developmental milestones, and learning experiences.
  • Maintain active supervision and ensure children are properly supervised at all times.
  • Assist with maintaining required teacher-to-child ratios and accurate classroom headcounts.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate classroom.
  • Assist with classroom documentation and daily communication as needed.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, families, coworkers, and center leadership.
  • Communicate professionally with families regarding their child's day, activities, and accomplishments.
  • Follow all center policies and procedures as well as applicable state licensing, health, and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other team members to support the overall success of the classroom.
  • Serve as a positive role model and contribute to a professional, supportive, and team-oriented center culture.
