About The Position

The Assistant Teacher helps provide daily care and learning experiences for children at a child care center. The role supports children’s development and lifelong learning by maintaining an engaging, clean, and organized classroom; following licensing guidelines and company standards; and communicating effectively with families. The assistant teacher completes extensive training on childcare, preschool, and child development topics. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of Florida’s required background screening.

Requirements

• Ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
• Successful completion of Florida’s required background screening is a condition of employment.
• Energetic, dependable, and passionate about working with children.

Responsibilities

• Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child.
• Maintain a fun, interactive classroom that is clean and organized.
• Develop the ability to observe and assess children accurately and plan for their needs.
• Communicate effectively with families.
