As an Assistant Teacher, you'll work alongside a talented team of early childhood educators in a supportive classroom environment. Our programs serve children ages 6 weeks to 12 years, including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before & After Care, and Summer Camp. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to meet applicable state licensing requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Support the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, structured, and engaging classroom
  • Help provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children
  • Communicate professionally with parents, children, and team members
  • Assist with documenting children's development and progress
  • Utilize technology to support classroom documentation and child progress reports
  • Respond to children's emotions and individual needs with patience and empathy
  • Help establish age-appropriate classroom expectations and routines
  • Participate in classroom activities, transitions, meals, and daily routines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Be creative, enthusiastic, and engaged in your work
  • Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and school leadership
  • Follow COA policies and applicable state licensing requirements
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow into a Lead Teacher role
