About The Position

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable professional to support our Head Start preschool classrooms while also assisting with the safe transportation of children to and from school. Requirements

• High School Diploma/ GED & Child Development Associate (CDA)
• Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Maintain classroom documentation and records
• Supervise children in classroom and outdoor settings
• Assist with transportation by driving or monitoring buses
• Build positive relationships with children and families
